At HOYER we Care about our colleagues, customers and local communities. We offer competitive pay and colleague benefits in order to attract, reward, retain and recognise the valuable contribution of our people. We provide our colleagues with industry-leading training and development opportunities, recognise the importance of regular two-way communication and we say thank you to those who go above and beyond the call of duty and demonstrate our Company Values of Care, Ownership, Adaptability, Respect and Strive for Excellence.
HOYER offers a competitive holiday entitlement that increases with length of service.
HOYER cares about the future and what happens when you decide to retire. All colleagues are eligible to join the Company Pension Scheme when starting with HOYER. The scheme operates on a Pension Salary Exchange basis which is designed to increase your take home pay and reduce your National Insurance costs. Both the colleague and the company contribute to your pension and you are able to increase your minimum contributions if you wish.
HOYER understands how people worry about providing for their loved ones. The company operates a non-contributory life assurance scheme, providing death in service for all eligible colleagues. This benefit commences as soon as you start working for us.
All company locations throughout the UK have free, onsite parking for our colleagues.
HOYER takes an interest in the health and well-being of its colleagues and is pleased to offer discounted gym membership to all. Colleagues can benefit from discounts at over 2,900 gyms, spas, pools, studios and outdoor fitness events across the UK, including all the main UK chains, low cost operators, many leisure centres and even studios offering yoga, Pilates and cross fit. Discounts are available for HOYER colleagues and their partners as either new or existing members.
A discount of up to 15% on Vodafone bundles is available for all colleagues.
HOYER is pleased to operate a Cycle2work scheme which is available to all colleagues in the UK. The scheme is a government tax exemption initiative whereby HOYER will loan bicycles and cyclists' safety equipment to colleagues, enabling them to save money on Income Tax and National Insurance. At the end of the loan period, which is normally 12 months, the colleague then has the option to keep the bicycle or return it to the supplier. The main principle is that the bicycle should be used for journeys to and from work, or for part of the journey (e.g. to a train station).
HOYER cares about each and every colleague. We understand that there is a life outside of work, and that sometimes colleagues could do with a helping hand. HOYER provides an Employee Assistance Programme. This independent service can provide support to colleagues with a wide range of problems, from relationship difficulties to financial and legal matters. It is a confidential service available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing colleagues and their families with access to telephone counselling, practical guidance, and information services.
Healthy nutrition is at the heart of the organisation, so every fortnight HOYER UK locations receive a delivery of fresh fruit to its offices – packed full of a variety of treats from Fruitful Office; and with every basket of fruit eaten, Fruitful Office plant 1 fruit tree in Malawi, Africa.
HOYER offers eye care vouchers on request, to all drivers and VDU (Visual Display Unit) users. This includes a contribution towards the cost of glasses if they are required.
HOYER colleagues can register for a BP Fuel Card (& one additional card for their partner/spouse) for the purchase fuel at BP, Texaco, Esso, and some Gulf stations and pay for it via their salary. Discounts are available for card holders on some fuels and a variety of other goods.
HOYER encourages all colleagues to develop within their roles and offers opportunities for career progression. All colleagues with 6 months’ service are eligible to apply for the Employee Development Programme, irrespective of their job role. Colleagues are chosen for the programme through a formal selection process, and those appointed are given an individual development plan and specific training to support their career progression within the Company. Each individual is appointed a mentor who supports and guides them throughout their development, with focused development plans and regular review meetings.
HOYER prides itself in the industry as a leader in driver training. This is fundamental to continuing to operate at the highest levels of safety and service. The organisation invests heavily in training for all drivers joining the Company, even those who are experienced, because HOYER is committed to ensuring that every driver consistently upholds our standards of safety so that the company are able to meet customers’ requirements in a safe, secure and efficient manner. Drivers are our ambassadors on the road, each day delivering vital products which keep the global industry moving. That’s an important job, so colleagues are invested in to give them the tools to do it to the highest standards. HOYER is an accredited centre for driver CPC and PDP training and we ensure that every driver undergoes intensive and rigorous training, including defensive driving and crash-avoidance.
The development of colleagues is an important aspect of HOYER’s people strategy for success and growth. HOYER offers a structured annual personal development review for every staff member, from which training and development needs and areas for development are identified.
HOYER pays into the Apprenticeship levy which gives colleagues the opportunity to complete courses and gain qualifications that are funded by the levy to support their career development. There are a wide range of modern apprenticeships available, from Business Administration and Customer Service, to Management and Degree Level qualifications.
HOYER recognises the importance of regular communication and keeping in touch with our colleagues. Information is passed on by various means to ensure colleagues are kept up to date with Company news and upcoming events. This includes team briefings, together with announcements and updates via email, notice boards and the Intranet. In addition HOYER sends out regular newsletters to colleagues’ home addresses: the HOYER People magazine covers UK specific information; and the HOYER 360 publication is Group wide.
HOYER encourages feedback from colleagues via our “Ask the Board” facility, enabling colleagues to ask direct questions of the HOYER Board. All questions are properly considered and individual replies sent to the each person.

HOYER also takes great pride in supporting our colleagues in their fundraising efforts for charities close to their hearts.
